Under the agreement, China Unicom will expand its 3G and broadband networks throughout the province.
In the meantime, the Hainan provincial government will offer full support to China Unicom's businesses on the island. It will encourage local firms to form industrial partnerships with the telecom operator and help the company offer comprehensive information services.
China Unicom's Hainan branch has already launched 3G commercial trial service in the province. It will focus on the broadband mobile Internet business and aim to speed up the IT development in the province this year.
